Each year during the summer months, DCC hold our Summer Bouldering Ladder Competition Series consisting of four rounds, each lasting four weeks long followed by a final. At the start of each round a new set of problems is revealed. The scoreboard is updated daily, so you can see your rank as you move up (or down!) the ladder! Get it?!
We know it’s hard to get motivated in the summer with the heat and all so what better way of motivating yourself than progressing up the ladder?! Of course we will be employing someof the best local and international route setters to ensure the problems will be top notch! Round 1 on 1st June will be set by no less than 7 times British Bouldering Champ Gaz Parry!
Route Setters include seven times British Champ Gaz Parry!
New for 2012
• We are giving you a massive 50 problems per round!
• Summer Bouldering Ladder Winners Trophies!
• A series of events mark the start of each round!
You can come to each round as many times as you like, so perseverance really is the key to success. Since the climbs will range from very easy to super hard everyone can have a go – beginner to climbing pro. The Summer Ladder is a great introduction to competition climbing as having longer rounds means you can keep trying problems as often as you like. You’ll hopefully see some pretty quick progression over the summer since the comp will really help you to focus your sessions and practice a whole range of climbing styles.
The final will take place a week after Round 4 ends, on the following Friday 28th September where the highest scoring winners after 4 rounds will be announced. This is where every point will count right up until the final score sheets are handed in! Winners will be presented with the Summer Bouldering Ladder trophies. All scorecards from each round are entered into a mega raffle in the Final with some really snazzy prizes!
You could win top prizes like a Bouldering Mat, but you have to be here on the night to collect prizes in person. There will be a BBQ on the go too, with veggie and meat eater options for our hungry climbers, and a prize for the best photo captured during the competition.
